If these so called "Illini Bucks" could be used for something I would say to be able to use them for priority for scholarships. Same idea as the early sign up period. You would use these bucks to move to the front of the line of the scholarship. Since everyone in the school would have the same amount of illini bucks then there should be a problem, should there? Now lets say that multiple options such as priority sign up for classes, access to parking with illini bucks, access to meals, access to housing using illini buck or other things could be used with illini bucks. This would make illini bucks like currency almost. Everyone could choose what they use these illini bucks on, and it would be on the student on whether or not they choose to use it wisely. I think this would make it fair, because students could then choose what would benefits them. So lets say a student would rather use there illini bucks for free meals for the year, or free housing, or priority to register or any of the "given options" in this scenario, it would let the students who are trying to get scholarship priority more of a chance. Instead of having just one option, because then it would put everyone on the same boat as right now, if everyone has priority to sign up early, does anyone really have priority?

I personally would probably use my illini bucks on the option that would cost the most if I were to pay for it monetarily. Lets say the scholarship option was only worth $5,000 but the option to get free housing for a semester was valued at 7,000 i would choose that option. This makes the most sense  since illini don't actually have a physical monetarily amount on them, they only have monetarily value when you redeem them. This could be bad for the university but good for students having these options for illini bucks. Maybe I am being too generous with my options, but I want to make it something that students would definitely use the illini bucks, but this would come to a high cost to the university.
